Aunt Daisy's Cookery Book 1954 had advertising for Vi-Max, Hansell's, Vi-Meal, Vi-Bran, Edmonds cornflour, Bournville Cocoa, and Champion Vinegar. I'm compiling a list of the editions and the ads they had in them. Were there any other food and drink ads in it besides the Edmonds ones you showcased? The 1954 edition of this book has advertising for Vi-Max, Hansell's, Vi-Meal, Vi-Bran, Edmonds cornflour, Bournville Cocoa, Champion Vinegar and Neeco. I'm trying to compile a listing of editions and their advertising. Is this the one that was for sale a couple of weeks back on Trademe? I have just received a pre 1899 Mrs Beetons cookbook and as well as being interesting it is rather amusing with the instructions on Housekeeping.peasepuddinghttp://peasepudding.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4834651462593410303.post-29142012859556517572010-01-20T10:01:52.341+13:002010-01-20T10:01:52.341+13:00KG - for you: http://tiny.cc/pgPFwKG - for you: http://tiny.cc/pgPFwNigel Olsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13350611651161046055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4834651462593410303.post-29894712325228955582010-01-20T10:00:18.197+13:002010-01-20T10:00:18.197+13:00KG - Haha! It has a heating period then it stirs and cooks it up. doesnt use any water in the mixture.

Alternative (which MIL tested and prefers) is the MICROWAVE method, she said it takes about 30 mins total, and you can make a jar quantity at a time. Like breadmaker you dont add any other liquid. Cook down fruit for 10 mins, stir / (maybe puree now?), then cook down for 20 mins or so.Louhttp://domesticscene.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
